The area of communication has as main axis the development of student's' verbal and nonverbal communication skills to express themselves through the different tolls of language.
Learning English as a second language aims to consolidate and develop communication skills at an intermediate level according to International Standards of the Common European framework of reference for languages. Expectations in first and second semester are aimed at consolidating level A 1 and beginning transition to level A2. On the other hand, in third and fourth semester considering the context, the possibilities of the teaching staff and available resources students will reach the threshold of level B1 through the development of communicative skills, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, expression and interaction and written expression.
English 5 is studied in fifth semester. It has as background English 1,2, 3 and 4. The social situations of language are used so that students can communicate through communicative skills with the intention of explaining personal information, illustrating comparisons, contrasting present actions and actions in progress, recounting past events, interrupted actions and habits, describing actions started in the past with present effect and explaining plans and predictions in an environment of respect and tolerance towards the cultural diversity of the context and reflection in decision making so that it is done in a conscious and informed way assuming consequences.
Another important aspect that promotes the study program is the interdisciplinarity between subjects of the same semester, where different disciplines come together to work collaboratively to obtain results in the expected learning in an integral way, allowing the student to confront everyday situations by applying his knowledge in a linked was.
